Growing up, Ronit Roy lived in Ahmedabad, India. He received his education in this location. After finishing his elementary education, he pursued a degree in hotel management. Then, in order to launch his hospitality career, he relocated to Mumbai. He worked there as a trainee at the Sea Rock Hotel and also has knowledge of all aspects of the hospitality industry, including dishwashing, cleaning, bartending, etc. He lived with the filmmaker Subhash Ghai when he went to Mumbai, and Subhash Ghai warned him against falling in love with the movie industry because it is difficult to make a living from it.

He co-starred in the 1993 box office hit Bomb Blast alongside Aditya Pancholi & Kishori Shahane. He made an appearance in the highly regarded movie Udaan in 2010. His effort in this movie received high appreciation and brought him numerous honors.
Ronit portrayed the primary antagonist in the 2013 Akshay Kumar film BOSS. He made an appearance in the movie 2 States in 2014, and his acting there was well-received. Ronit also appeared on screen alongside Hrithik Roshan in the movie Kaabil as an antagonist. He made his Telugu cinema debut at the same time with N.T.R. Jr. starring Jai Lava Kusa, in which he played the villain Sarkar. Additionally, he has acted in movies like Loveyatri, Machine and Lucknow Central. His latest film appearance was in Puri Jagannadh’s romantic sports drama Liger.
