Dalip Tahil is an Indian actor, working in films, television, and theatre. He is a well-known face in the industry and has been a part of the film industry for many years now.
Early Life and Education: Dalip Tahil
Dalip Tahil was born on 30th October 1952 to a Sindhi Hindu family in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. His family had moved to India from Sindh during the Partition of India and as a result, he grew up to be an Indian citizen. His father’s name is Ghansham Jethanand Tahilramani, and he used to work in the Indian Air Force. Not much has known about Dalip Tahil’s mother.
Dalip Tahil did his schooling from Sherwood College in Nainital, Uttarakhand. After he completed his initial education in school, he enrolled into Aligarh Muslim University for further studies but had to drop out shortly after as his family was then moving to Mumbai. After he moved to Mumbai, he enrolled into St. Xavier’s College in Mumbai to complete his education.
It has been reported that Dalip Tahil always keen on participating in different events and programs during his student life. He keenly interested in sports, and took part in his school’s football, hockey, and cricket teams. Along with that, he also participated in many other extracurricular activities like drama, debates and more.
While he was a student in college, he got into a theatre group where we learned acting under Alyque and Pearl Padamsee.
Personal Life
Dalip Tahil is married to Amrita, who is a businesswoman. The couple have a daughter. In September 2018, he arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, and ramming his vehicle into an autorickshaw, injuring passengers inside.

Dalip Talil has had a career that has spanned over three decades. Before he got into films, he acted in several plays, as well as musicals, like Godspell, Evita, Bombay Dreams, A Streetcar Named Desire, and many more. He got his first film break in Bollywood in 1974 with the movie Ankur. He best known for his works in some of the best movies in Bollywood like Baazigar, Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke, and many more. Apart from working in Bollywood movies, he has worked in movies of Other industries as well like the Malayali and Punjabi film industries. In 2004, he appeared in a Sindhi film Paarewari, and in 2007, he worked in a Punjabi film Sajna Ve Sajna.
Although he is a famous actor in Bollywood, he has worked on some international projects too. He acted in the British television series EastEnders in 2003 and Nuclear Secrets in 2007. Dilip Talil made history in 1969 by winning the Kendall Cup three times. He won them for his theatrical performances in the play, My Three Angels, for his role of Joseph, and for his role in Macbeth as Macbeth. He won another of the same accolade for a different play, but it not known which one.
Dalip Talil is a talented singer too, and has worked with A.R Rahman on the Bombay Dreams world tour, and also released an album called Raaz Ki Batein.
