Rishi Dhawan is an Indian cricketer who plays first-class and List A cricket for Himachal Pradesh. He is a right-handed middle-order batsman and a right-handed fast bowler. He usually plays as an all-rounder in his team. Dhawan is primarily a medium-fast bowling all-rounder who bats in the middle-order.
Dhawan has played for Kings XI Punjab in the 2008 IPL. He signed up by the Mumbai Indians in 2013. In February 2017, he bought by the Kolkata Knight Riders team for the 2017 Indian Premier League for 55 lakhs. He was the leading run-scorer for Himachal Pradesh in the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy, with 519 runs in eight matches. His brother Raghav Dhawan also plays cricket.

He first hit the headlines as a 16-year-old in 2006, when he scored 340 for Himachal Pradesh in an Under-19 match against Railways in the Cooch Behar Trophy.
Three years later, he fast-tracked into the first-class setup, where his bowling performances overshadowed his batting. Dhawan finished the 2013-14 Ranji Trophy as the highest wicket-taker – 49 from eight matches. His continued good form in the Ranji Trophy put him on the selection radar for the senior team. Dhawan has played just 3 ODI matches so far, all of them against Australia, in which he scored 12 runs and was able to claim just 1 wicket.

His performances have steady, if not spectacular, having used mainly as a stop-gap bowling option. He retained ahead of the 2016 auction. He remained unsold during the 2018 IPL auction.
